Manicure Monday

Happy Manicure Monday!

For this week, I painted my paws a bit Lady Gaga-esque! Most people usually do this technique with tape. However, the last time I did a tape manicure, the tape let me down, so I used my handy-dandy toothpick to create the triangles.  It was a difficult task but I did it! You definitely need to have a steady hand to accomplish this!

Manicure Monday

Well, it's been awhile Blogger friends, so let's get things back to normal with a Manicure Monday Post!

I got my inspiration for today's manicure from this video from Birchbox TV, take a look!

It actually was as easy as they make it look in the video! I chose different colors though to do my manicure...

What do your paws look like this week? Let me know!

Manicure Monday

I was recently given Ciatè's caviar manicure in white and being stuck inside for a blizzard was the perfect time to try it out!

It was really easy to use but I must say that the small beads really do go EVERYWHERE! It is also very time consuming since you must paint and sprinkle each nail separately before moving on to the next one.

My paws came out looking so cool though! Depending on how light reflected on them, it gave them a different look! Very FFC! Let's see how long it lasts though, I've heard not that long. I'll be sure to let you know!

Eyebrow Threading

Last week I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time ever at Shobha in New York City! I've been a long time eyebrow waxer but I think Shobha has now converted me to a threader!

They have locations throughout New York City, I went to the one in the Financial District. My eyebrows were done by the well-known and extremely talented, Shashi and she did a fabulous job. My shape has completely changed and perfected. Shashi has even worked on A-list celebrities! I tried, but I couldn't get the names out of her! She usually works at their Columbus Circle location; you must go and see her.

Look at the magic she did...

When you get your eyebrows threaded, your skin does not get affected the way it does when you get them waxed. I have extremely sensitive skin so this was a major plus for me! I did get a little irritation but nothing compared to how red I used to get when I would get them waxed. Threading also allows the specialist to be more precise than with waxing. It was overall just a better experience.

Right now Shobha is only located in New York but they are opening a location in DC this Spring. The next time you go to get your eyebrows threaded, make sure to go to Shobha! If you're lucky, try and get Shashi to do them, too!

Outfit of the Day

Let's get a little FunSized Fashion going on!

This is what I wore yesterday when we were shooting at Tavern on Third for Best Sports Bar in NYC

I am a wearing a Joie Marru top in Nile blue. The way this top photographs and looks in person is a bit different. In person, it has more of a purple hue in it. Joie is a great shop! They have multiple locations throughout New York City, and they are also available at Bloomingdales! Along with some Guess Skinny Jeans and Jeffrey Campbell Litas, I was ready for a day in front of the camera.

American Apparel Gloves

I recently purchased these fabulous fingerless gloves from American Apparel. This is my first pair of fingerless gloves and I love them. They're perfect for those moments when you need to check your phone when you're outside in the cold! They came in a bunch of different colors but I chose the black speckled with some color! Mine were only $12 which is pretty reasonable in my opinion! However, they have some on sale now for $5, so hurry up and get them before these winter storms hit!

P.S. It's also a perfect way to show off your manicure! ;)

Stay warm my friends!

Halloweekend Paws

HALLOWEEKEND! I thought this polish would be perfect for the start of the Halloween celebrations! I used the same glitter that I used last week from Sephora, Come to Paparazzi! I did two coats and voila, you have the perfect set of glitter paws! They almost look leopard-like due to the orange, gold, and black glitter. I love love love this!

It's so fun, flirty, and carefree!

Autumn Nails

This is what my paws look like this week!

The main color is "I'm with Brad" from Sephora by OPI Nail Polish and my pinky nail or the accent nail is Come to Pappa-razzi! another Sephora by OPI Color. This is one of their new Jewelry Top Coats and this line is a MUST-HAVE for the holiday season. These glitter polishes are so fun, flirty, and carefree! Now when it comes to accent nails, most ladies paint their ring finger but I like to do my pinky. It is different and unique to me!

So which nail are you going to choose to be your accent? If you need some inspiration I like using these two blogs: www.ginadoesnails.tumblr.com and http://nailsforsharks.tumblr.com/.  Show me what your paws look like this week!

Everybody Needs to be Compensated Properly, Equitably, & Above Board

image from @evanrosskatz instagram Amanda Seyfried said it best “Everybody needs to be compensated for their work. That’s f*cking easy.” She said this in reference to the recent WGA strikes happening in Hollywood. However, I would like to take her quote and apply it to what I’ve noticed the issues are with how the entertainment industry is ran here in Florida.   After working in the entertainment industry for over 10 years in New York City, I expected some things to be handled differently in Florida but not to the extent that I have witnessed. The biggest issue here is that people are, simply, not compensated for their work.   Let’s start off with, how Florida does not see the value in models. Business owners believe that if they provide you with a free item from, let’s say their restaurant, so a cocktail, that’s enough compensation to use your likeness and image in perpetuity on all mediums and formats. This is so wrong. Modeling is a profession and it should be treated as such.   Sin
